Rubber Dome Keyboard Vs Mechanical

I just picked up the new logitech g910 for example.
Rubber dome keyboard vs mechanical. Oh and features most mechanical keyboards have no features. What s the difference between membrane keyboard and mechanical keyboard and which one should i use. Dome switch keyboards are a hybrid of flat panel membrane and mechanical switch keyboards. They have a simple structure consisting of a rubber dome that once pressed completes the circuit on the keyboard s printed circuit board pcb below.
They bring two circuit board traces together under a rubber or silicone keypad using either metal dome switches or polyurethane formed domes. This is because the rubber dome underneath the ordinary keyboard keys offers a nonlinear resistance to pressure giving it a wobbly feel. I prefer rubber dome becaue it s what i type on 90 of the time. Honestly i find that i m more accurate with the flex and bounciness of a rubber dome key i also type faster on them.
Work keyboards growing up etc. Mechanical keyboards last longer. The metal dome switches are formed pieces of stainless steel that when compressed give the user a crisp positive tactile feedback. The membrane or rubber dome keyboards rely on rubber domes to provide feedback unlike the spring and metal contacts in a mechanical keyboard.
Mechanical switches are certified to last longer than rubber dome switches pretty much across the board regardless of the manufacturer. Which is why i say rubber dome keyboards are absolutely alright considering you can get a super cool lcd screen keyboard with tons of features for 50 to 80 but 80 gets you the most absolute bare bones mechanical keyboard that may or may not even be a decent one.
