Rv Landing Gear Failure

Front legs leveling jacks etc may be malfunctioning.
Rv landing gear failure. I m troubleshooting a landing gear problem on a fifth wheel. Specifically i shall address how to replace the gearbox on the dc motor that powers the landing gear on our arctic fox 24 5n fifth wheel trailer. I m trying to determine if there is a gear box problem or a motor problem. When i extend the landing gear the motor seems to make a skipping sound and has a hard time raising the trailer.
The whole assembly is machined then axle is formed by bending the the rod in a heated condition after which the whole assembly is heat treated. Landing gear stop extending when they hit the ground but motor still runs. I believe the legs are not bent and there is no rear end jacks down. This post is intended for anyone who wants to save the expense of a trip to the rv shop after discovering their landing gear aka.
We have peace of mind again. Temporary fix to failing land. An rv 4 landing gear leg is a tapered rod wittman style gear where the axle is integral to the gear. See how we got our lippert front landing gear leveling legs fixed on our 2015 drv mobile suites.
Not sure what airplane the ntsb was investigating.
